  2. Add salt and pepper, herbs of your choice, steak and chops spice and bay leaves and oil to the meat. Brown on medium heat.
  3. Add the knorr soup and onions followed by the tomato sauce. cook until onion are tender.
  4. Add back the excess water you set aside earlier.Allow to simmer.
  5. Put the potatoes and butternut into the meat pot. cook again for a few minutes and serve.

I used my Instant Pot to make this stew and it came out amazing - the beef was fork tender and the flavors were bold and delicious! I love to use my electric pressure cooker to make stews and soups. Some recipes for beef stew involve stirring in a slurry of cornstarch and water at the end to thicken, but that was definitely not necessary here.
