Collards is one of the most favored of recent trending foods on earth. It’s appreciated by millions every day. It’s simple, it’s quick, it tastes delicious. They’re fine and they look fantastic. Collards is something which I have loved my entire life.

To get started with this recipe, we have to prepare a few ingredients. You can have collards using 7 ingredients and 9 steps. Here is how you cook that.

The ingredients needed to make Collards:
  1. Make ready collard greens
  2. Make ready Pink Himalayan salt
  3. Take distilled white vinegar
  4. Take + 2 tablespoon sugar
  5. Make ready water
  6. Get bacon Drippings
  7. Get Bacon
Instructions to make Collards:
  1. Look over and wash the leaves. Remove thick stems.
  2. Add bacon drippings
  3. In a pot add salt, sugar, 2 cups water and vinegar.
  4. Put on to heat. Add bacon and bring to boil
  5. When the broth is boiling good add the collards. This allows the greens to shrink and fit in the pot faster.
  6. Stir every 20 minutes don't allow them to clump up
  7. After 1-1/2 hours mix the remaining sugar with water and add to the collards. Keep adding water as needed. I think I used a gallon or more total.
  8. Add the rest of the seasonings stir well
  9. After 2-1/2 hours I was done. Serve I hope you enjoy!
